Casino Royale
James Bond isn't usually my kettle of fish, but this film has received such rave reviews that it had to be seen to be believed.
It is brilliant: original, packed with action, unpredictable and creative. By far the most refreshing element in Casino Royale is the way Bond is played; he has a heart, his rough and seemingly feelingless facade is just that. Bond is portrayed as someone who hasn't been on the receiving end of love for most of his life, but once he experiences it, he casts everything aside in pursuit of his beloved.
For anyone who has fallen in love, it's an experience that can be identified with. Irrespective of the excitements and adventures to be had in the world, one's only focus becomes this special person, this soulmate. 007 treasured this experience and although it was brief, (not that I want to give the plot away) it was something that left a deep impression on his heart.
When and if you do go to see this film, you'll be surprised to see that there's a little 007 in each of us; that person who wants to be loved and accepted for who and what we are.
